There has been a rule change on microracing.com concerning the right rear offset and how it is measured.
Old rule which is the same if you were running with the TQs:
OFFSET:
Maximum offset measured from the center line of the car between
the front and rear main frame rails to the inside wall of tire, right
front 22 inches. Right rear 22 inches. Minimum offset measured from
same points as above for the left front 12 inches, left rear 14 in.
New rule just for the 'dirt' 500 micros:
Right rear offset measured from the center line of the car (between
the left and right side frame rails) to the CENTER of the right rear
wheel may not exceed 25”.
Under the old rule you would have the 22 inches plus 1/2 the width of the right rear which would be 29 inches for
a 69/10W-10 tire.
Most micros measuring from center of chassis to center of right rear tire for a regular dirt track would be 26 inches
which we would change either in or out.
If they don't change this rule most of those entered will have to decide whether to run with the TQs or withdraw.
That probably will effectively kill the growth of the 'dirt only' 600 micro class at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.
