Jonestown, PA-Mike Rutherford of Newmanstown, PA, Kyle Hieber of Langhorne, Chris Smith of Palmyra and Dave Grube of Denver, PA were honored for their 2009 point championships at the annual Linda's Speedway Awards Banquet held on Saturday evening, February 20 at the Holiday Inn located in Grantville, PA.
 
Mike Rutherford was the man of the night as he picked up point championships in both the 270cc and 600cc Micro Sprints and in doing so made it three point titles in a row in the 270cc class while Kyle Hieber won his first ever Linda's Speedway track championship in the Tobias Slingshot division. Chris Smith won the Charger Championship for the third time in just four seasons for the division while in the 125cc Micro Sprints it was Dave Grube winning his first point title on the quarter mile oval.
 
Special Award winners were Michael Weinert (270cc), Tim Buckwalter (600cc), Kim Dornblaser (Slingshots) and Charles Kimmel Jr. (Chargers) for 2009 Rookie Of The Year honors. The Most Improved Driver Awards went to Dane Tobias (270cc), Ryan Wilson (600cc), Kyle Hieber (Slingshots) and Harold Smith (Chargers). The 2009 Steve Buch Sportsmanship Award winners were Brian Heist (270cc), Zach Light (600cc), Matt Miller (Slingshots), Butch Helsel (Chargers) and Richie Hartman (125cc). The Hard Luck Driver Of The Year Awards went to Robert Crawford (270cc), Shawn Light (600cc) and Mike Fry (Slingshots).
 
A special thank you goes out to RTS Chassis for putting $500 into each of the point funds for the 270cc and 600cc Micro Sprints. JR Michalski Heating & Air Conditioning sponsored the Slingshot point fund while in the 125cc Micro Sprints it was Sherry's Photos. Kreiser's Fuel Service sponsored the Charger division.
 
Point fund sponsorship for the 2010 season is not final as of yet. Titan Wings has come on board for the 2010 season to sponsor the 600cc Micro Sprint heat race challenge. The 600cc driver with the most heat race wins at Linda's Speedway in 2010 will earn a top wing and a nose wing with a combined value of $420.
 
The Linda's Speedway will kick off the 2010 season on Sunday, March 28 with a test and tune day open to any type race car. gates will open at 11:00 AM with track time taking place from noon until 4:00 PM. This year there will be alone track time for rookie drivers if they so desire. The opening race of the 2010 season will take place on Friday, April 2 and will feature the 12th Annual Steve Buch Memorial for the 270cc and 600cc Micro Sprints paying $500 to win plus a complete show of the 125cc Micro Sprints. The Slingshots, Legends and Chargers will also be invited for several rounds of hot laps throughout the evening. April 9 will again feature the 270cc and 600cc Micro Sprints plus the 2010 season opener for the Chargers and Slingshots. The Slingshot event will go 50 laps and pay $500 to win plus the winner will get a guaranteed starting spot in the Lebanon Valley 100 that will take place on Saturday, September 25.
