Susquehanna…PA Excitement has been mounting for the first annual Northeast Small Car Classic at Penn Can Speedway in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania on Sunday September 5th. The first ever event will bring together five different divisions of racing on the same racing card. The Xcel 600 modifieds, the winged 600 sprints, the mini/sidewinder sprints, and slingshots will now be joined by the 270 sprints in and action packed day of racing. The event will be sponsored in part by Bob Hilbert Sportswaer and National Parts Peddler.

“We are excited about this small car gathering at Penn Can Speedway and have had lots of interest in the last few days,” explains Reed Miller. “Al Wilcox and I came up with this idea after seeing the great show put on at Penn Can by Doug Borger’s Xcel modifieds.”

Rules for the five divisions have been posted on the speedway website and are such that there should be a great field of cars present race day. Qualifying events have been held at Kutztown, Wyalusing, and Accord for the event and more will be held in the coming weeks. The purse developed should excite teams to make the trip to Penn Can. All registered teams will draw for heat race starting positions with the top qualifiers redrawing for their feature event.
