XCEL CHASSIS 600 MODIFIEDS TO HONOR LEON GRUBER WITH A 5O LAPPER ON SEPT. 28TH AT LINDAS SPEEDWAY
When the fit is right, there is no second guessing the decision. Xcel Chassis owner and promoter Doug Borger has decided to make the 50 lapper scheduled for Lindas Speedway on September 28th the Leon Gruber Memorial 50. The inaugural race was held last year at Kutztown and since the 600 modifieds will not be returning it was decided to make the transition to Lindas. "Leon always liked the smaller tracks cause he thought it was not just the car but the driver as well. As he would put it, "If you're not on the wheel, then u ain't driving", stated Borger.
Sponsors are being lined up for a $1000 payday to the winner along with a fast time award of $333.33 to honor the number his son Kevin ran during his years in the 600 modifieds. The format will stay the same as previous 50 lappers at Lindas but with one added bonus. Xcel Chassis will be selling laps for this special event at $10.00. The leader of that specific lap will then receive the $10.00 so if a driver can win fast time, lead each lap and pull into victory lane, he or she will be bringing home a total of $1833.33.
If you are interested in sponsoring a lap or a special award contact Doug Borger at 610-681-2689. More details and sponsors will be released shortly and you can find them on the Xcel Chassis forum board at xcel600modified.proboards.com
