Racers AND Fans Benefit From Events At Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway
Newmanstown, PA - If you stand still, or simply do the same thing over and over, you will become stagnant and stale. And if you become stagnant and stale, you will get left behind, eating the dust of those who adapt, adjust, and improve the way they do things.
It can be said that Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway is anything but stale and stagnant. The speedway's governing body, the Lanco Board of Directors, is increasing its commitment to providing the best facility and Micro-Sprint events by taking care of its competitors AND fans.
Drivers in all of the weekly divisions can realize higher race purses in 2013, while the loyal fan base will get one night when they don't even have to bring their wallets with them to the race track.
Let's first examine the increase payout incentive...
Racers in any of the five divisions - the 600cc, 270cc, 125cc, Sportsman, and/or 270cc Four-Stroke - that pull a field of 24 or more cars for a regular, point-paying event, will see its winner's share increased by $50.
Feature races that are unsponsored will pay $350 to the winning driver, provided 24 or more cars are entered in that particular class.
In races that are sponsored, an entry list of 24 to 30 cars will enable the feature winner to pocket $350, while a field of 31 or more means the winner will earn $400!
The full field payouts, for both sponsored and unsponsored events, is posted on the club's website at lancomicrosprint.com.
With large fields in most of its divisions on a weekly basis, the Lanco Board realizes that some drivers will go home without having a chance to compete in his/her main event. And they've decided that the non-qualifiers deserve something for their efforts, too, so...
Any team that does not qualify will receive a free car entry for the following point-paying event only, as long as there are 24 or more entries in his/her class on the night that he/she does not qualify.
As an example, on Saturday, April 20, the 600cc Micro-Sprints pulled a field of 34 cars. That meant a total of ten drivers did not qualify for the main event, and those ten received a free car entry for the next regularly scheduled program, which is this Saturday, April 27. In the 270cc Class, there were 29 entries on April 20, meaning five drivers will pay no car entry fee if they attend the event on April 27.
The free car entry must be used at the next regular point show; it cannot be carried over to a later date and cannot be utilized at a special event or one of the Open Shows (Memorial Day or Labor Day Shootout).
In addition, every driver who is able to win a feature race at the Clyde in 2013 will receive a $25 gift certificate, good toward the purchase of a two or three-layer custom driving suit. It's a new program, just instituted this season, and it's called the K1 Race Gear Proven Performance Program presented by Nouse Signs & Graphics.
The number of K1 Race Gear gift certificates that can be earned by one driver will be capped at ten, but that's still a hefty discount off a high quality suit manufactured at reasonable prices by K1 Race Gear.
And Clyde Martin racers also have a chance to win valuable Weld Racing gift certificates once again this year, as the renowned manufacturer of racing wheels has partnered with the Lanco club to offer the Weld Racing Fast Lap of the Feature.
Each week, on a rotating basis, the five classes take a turn at this award. Those throttle-jockeys competing in the first feature race of the evening are competing for the bonus provided by Weld Racing. The driver who records the single quickest lap during the main event will receive the $75.00 gift certificate (an increase of $25 over last year's contingency prize from Weld Racing).
Additionally, Weld Racing will present gift certificates of a much larger amount to the 2013 point champions.
As mentioned, the Lanco club has not forgotten about its fans, either.
On Saturday, April 27, spectators will be admitted FREE as part of Lanco's second annual Fan Appreciation Night. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable
food item in lieu of paying for a ticket; all of the food collected will be donated to Christ's Home in Paradise, Pa., a long-standing facility that provides a safe haven for disadvantaged youths. Many of those youth will be in attendance on the 27th, taking in the wheel-to-wheel, ground-pounding action produced on a weekly basis at the Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway.
Fan Appreciation Night will be sponsored by Animal Resorts, with many giveaways and special activities planned throughout the evening. And it's FREE to all spectators!
The drivers have the incentives that cause them to present an amazing show; the fans display their support for the amazing show put on by the drivers...it's the perfect racing storm, and it's one of the reasons why you've just gotta come out and LIVE the excitement that is Lanco!
