Jonestown, PA-Richie Hartman of Shoemakersville, PA who is in a tight race for the 2010 Linda's Speedway track championship earned 200 of a possible 205 points that were up for grabs on this night by winning his fifth RTS Chassis sponsored 270cc Micro Sprint feature race of the season and finishing second in his heat race. Speaking of tight point battles for the 2010 championship for the RTS Chassis sponsored 600cc Micro Sprints saw Ryan Wilson and Brian Carber in a tie for the point lead going into tonight's show. Ryan Wilson of Maytown, PA did what he had to do come feature time as he drove to his sixth feature win of the season and now is once again out in front in the battle for the track title. Jasen Geesaman of Lebanon notched his seventh victory of the season in the 20 lap main event for the Charger division and in doing so becomes the first driver to win seven times in a single season since the class began back in 2006 as an all rear wheel drive class. The Hoosier Tire Xcel 600 Modified tour returned for their fifth appearance of the 2010 season and winning the 20 lap feature was Tyler Bartik who made it win number two for the season.
Ed Kenderdine led the first five laps of the 270cc Micro Sprint feature before Richie Hartman moved up to make it a side by side battle for two circuits before Hartman made it officially into the top spot on lap eight. Once in front it was all Richie Hartman as he drove to his fifth win of the season. It was the first win for Hartman since the non point show event on July 2. With 19 laps down a caution came out and that would change the outlook for the second place as Nick Skias moved from fourth to second in the last six laps to nail down an unbelievable nine straight top five finishes. Ed Kenderdine finished third to match his best of the season with Ross Perchak fourth and last weeks winner Jason Swavely fifth. Coming home 6-10 were Scott Gingrich, Pete Skias, Mike Boyer, Jim Skias and Tom Schearer. The lowest car count of the season as just 24 of the 270's were on hand with heat race wins going to Josh Stoyer, Nick Skias and Andrew Dietrich.
Sammy LaMothe came close to winning a 600cc Micro Sprint feature weeks ago and tonight looked to be his night as the #55 was flying around the speedway leading 19 laps. Ryan Wilson started seventh and moved into sixth on lap one and fifth on lap two. Lap seven saw Wilson move up one more notch to fourth and on lap ten moved by Terry Schaeffer to take third. After a restart with 11 laps down Wilson zipped past Robert Crawford to take second and now the chase was on as he would try to not only catch Sammy LaMothe but try to take away his thunder. On the 20th lap Wilson took his #29 to the high side of the track and made his move into the top spot and away he sailed to his sixth win of the season with Sammy LaMothe holding on to finish second, Robert Crawford third, Terry Schaeffer fourth and Jesse Snyder fifth. Brian Carber, Mark Ludwig, last weeks winner Rob Adams, Pete Skias in the Gary Hunter #7H and Zach Light completed the top ten. Zach Light and Pete Skias won the 10 lap heat races.
Dave Reightler led the first 11 laps of the 20 lap Charger feature when the #77 got just a bit out of the fast groove and Jasen Geesaman who was on the bumper of the Reightler car slipped under to take the lead and his seventh win of the season. The Geesaman car may not be the fastest car on the track but his smooth driving and a great handling car seem to make it look easy. Geesaman has also been helping Reightler set his car up and what a difference it has made for that team as he has finished first and second in the last two events. Behind Geesaman and Reightler were Larry Neal, Nick Ruhl and Bryan Michael. Bryan Michael, Dave Reightler and Jasen Geesaman won the heat races.
Tyler Bartik won his second 600 Modified feature of the season in a wild and crazy event with Scott Washburn second, Brian Mady third, Ryan Kunkle fourth and Mike Kelly fifth. Chris Stockham, Eric Whitby, Brian Mady and George Loux winning the heat races. The "B" Main winners were Corry Roth and Nick Seaman. The 600 Mods will return to the Linda's Speedway on September 3.
