After suffering a rainout one week ago and Mother Nature threatening to do it again, the Smith Family threw caution to the wind and produced a spectacular racing card at the Hamlin Speedway in an evening that saw a new track record in the 600 Sprints and nine tremendous feature events that saw many of the features settled in the final moments of the racing action.

Bridgeport, NJ (May 18, 2013) – On the quarter mile track at Bridgeport Speedway, Jay Hartman rode back into victory lane after winning the 600cc Micro-Sprint feature. Jon Keller topped the field in the 270cc Micro-Sprint main event and Scott Dunn picked up another win in the 4-Cylinder Enduro Car division.

JONESTOWN- Another great night of racing at Linda’s Speedway took place May 17th. Brayden Winters of Danielsville overcame a mid race charge from Pat Bealer to win the second RTS Chassis sponsored 270 time trial event of the season. A last lap pass in the Hoosier Tire winged 600 Sprints allowed Mifflintown's Tyler Walton to take his first triumph of the year.

Despite threatening weather conditions over 300 cars jammed the Borgers pits and parking lot for this past Saturday’s event.  Well, that did include racecars, trucks pulling racecars, push quads, cars in the grandstand area, Pap’s Golf Cart,  employee cars, plus a few we pulled off route 115 when we threw the spike strips out.

When another speedway was unable to host their scheduled event for the 270 Road Show the event was quickly re-scheduled to Path Valley Speedway as a tune-up for their event scheduled for May 25th.  Rain threatened to cancel the show, but instead provided plenty of moisture in the clay and a very fast racing surface.

A determined Borgers Speedway track drying crew of Brandon Azzalina, Brian and BJ Wambold, Joe Agnello, Dan Curnell, and Eric Ceasar worked relentlessly from 11:00 a.m. at times during the rain to dry the asphalt surface to get racing underway at 4:00 p.m.  In a gutsy move where many other track operators would of thrown in the towel Brendan O’Connor vowed he would get the show in if it took until the curfew time of 10:00 p.m.
